Islam Sharafeldin has held two seats that rarely sit with the same person: the CFO, accountable for the numbers and the cash, and the General Manager, accountable for the entire operation. He reads financial statements like someone who has run operations, and runs operations like someone who knows what they do to the numbers.
Over twenty years he has led and overseen ERP implementations in companies across very different sectors. The lesson he carries from all of them: an ERP succeeds or fails before go-live, in the clarity of the processes, the decision rights, and the quality of the data going in.
For the past eight years he has focused on applying AI inside businesses, from automating repetitive finance and operations work to analytical tools that help leadership decide faster. He holds The Business of AI certificate from London Business School and a Business Administration certificate from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport.
Alongside his advisory work, he is a Certified Trainer and Certified Training Consultant, designing and delivering programmes for leadership and teams, including AI fundamentals training for companies, so that know-how transfers to the client’s own people rather than staying with the consultant.
